FF Academy wins the Beynon Cup

The FF Academy won the Beynon Cup 50 overs competition, defeating Buckinghamshire Academy by 4 wickets at Radley on 5 Aug.
The cup is competed for by Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Free Foresters U25 sides. FF defeated Hertfordshire by 4 wickets in the preliminary round, played at Harpenden.
In the 2 day competition between the same sides, the Tom Orford Trophy, FF were unbeaten but unable to hold on to the trophy they won in 2011, which was won by Buckinghamshire. FF Academy came a fairly close second, followed by Hertfordshire and then Bedfordshire.
23 players appeared for the Academy in 2012. They were; Eliot Callis, Tom Cosford, Hugo Darby, Ollie Dean, Tom Deasy, Conor Gallagher, James Godrich, Leo Hadcock, Nick Hands, Teddy James, Sam Johnson, Alex King, James O'Neill, Dominic Reed, Mike Reed, Ben Savage, Tom Shaw, David Smith, Will Vanderspar, Charlie Walker, Tom Williams, Tom Wood, Tim Young.
The side was excellently captained by David Smith, who scored runs and took wickets at vital times.
